The Eden Valley is higher in altitude and cooler in climate than the rest of the Barossa and therefore produces Chardonnay, which is finer and more elegant in style. The grapes for this wine come from the Summers Vineyard, which is located in this region. Balance and complexity have been the cornerstones of Grant Burges style of Chardonnay and this wine shows both. It will definately reward patience with further cellaring. This wine has been fermented in various types of new French Oak Hogsheads and after fermentation was left on its lees in wood for 7 months prior to blending and bottling. This wine is full in colour and shows distinctive, powerful Chardonnay varietal flavour with the added complexity of subtle oak maturation. |
