This wine is made from coonawarra estate-grown pinot noir, with the addition of some fruit from the cooler mt gambier region since the 2002 vintage. ripe cherry and stewed plum notes are overlaid with spice and vanillin characters, imparted by ten to twelve months maturation in french and american oak hogsheads. we recommend cellaring for up to 5 years, to allow the typical gamey characters of developed pinot noir to evolve. |
