Made from Grenache grown on our 'Nindethana' Vineyards at McLaren Flat, South Australia. The grapes were picked at 14.0deg. beaume in the early morning to avoid the heat of the day. The juice was fermented under carefully controlled conditions on skins to approx 2dg.be. before being run off. The skins were then basket pressed, with 100% of pressings returned to the wine. The wine was bottled after 12 months ageing in French and American oak barriques. This wine shows lifted aromatic Granache fruit on the nose and palate, with subtle, non dominant integrated oak, which leads to a long fruit driven crisp finish. This wine can be enjoyed now, but will be greatly enhanced with 2-3 years bottle age. This wine has undergone minimal filtration and will throw a harmless deposit in the bottle. Should this be a problem, decant the wine before serving. |
