Only a subtle oak influence was being sought by the yalumba winemaking team so the wine was matured for 12 months in a combination new and mature hungarian 48, mature american 26 and mature french 26 oak barrels. deep crimson red colour with crimson mauve hue. Restrained notes of morello cherry and dark plum followed by leather and cedar. Impressive weight with quite joosy flavours of dark plum, vanilla and confectionary with spicy back palate flavours. Fine grained slightly firmish tannins but balanced. Aftertaste of dark plum, spice and cedar. suitable for vegetarians and vegans. |
