Made from shiraz grapes grown on the dennis estate vineyards at mclaren flat, south australia. The shiraz grapes used in this port were essentially dry grown and allowed to fully ripen before being picked at 15 degrees baume. the free run was fortified with selected spirit. The skins were then pressed to dryness with a basket press and the pressings returned to the port. this port is showing rich fruit and licorice flavours which will grow immensley in the bottle. this wine is dedicated to my father, egerton dennis, whose foresight and pursuit of excellence laid the foundations for the winery and vineyard many years ago. |
